LOWERING TRIGLYCERIDES WITH PILLS DOES NOT WORK ON HEART PROBLEMS

Friends  This morning's news on Medscape was this headline reminding us all to be humble about certainty in health related topics. Western medicine and Western dietary advice is full of this kind of change from one advice to the other. Triglycerides were blamed is the primary cardiovascular risk factor in Indians for decades now. The complexity of the human body and the differences among individuals likely explain the reason for these conflicting data. As you read between the lines you realize what they found was lowering triglycerides with PILLS did not reduce cardiovascular mortality.  What they did NOT say is sugar or alcohol the primary drivers of triglyceride increase in us are safe to indulge in now. No doubt exists about improved health when we drink or eat less sugar.  No doubt exists that alcohol consumption is bad for health. Western medical science and research is driven by the need to commercialize pills to isell to us to mprove health outcomes hence the headline . It

TRANS FATS IN 1955 SOLD AS SANSKRIT VANASPATI. NOW MARGARINE AS INDIA GOES ENGLISH MEDIUM, STILL POISON

Western nutrition is based often on research in caucasians, more likely males and changes as new “discoveries” occur. Wrong teachings such as your example of margarine is the perfect case in point.  For over five decades (2013 trans fats banned in US)  it was pushed by almost all the nutrition powers in US with the American Heart Association being the biggest guilty party. The New York Times nutrition pages were full of advice to use margarine. The lowering of IQ when margarine is fed to infants and young children may be one of the reasons for how America is turning out. The epidemic of DJD, A Fibrillation and Macular degeneration, and other ailments in old age in the world can be blamed on this cellular poison made from near rancid vegetable oils for profit, ease of transport and to prolong shelf life of baked goods from a few weeks with butter to many months with margarine! My grandmother would not let us eat cheap "vanaspati “  or ghee from the forest Hindustan Lever name for

TURMERIC AND WOUND HEALING PART 2 - PHYSIOLOGY OF WOUND HEALING S AND TURMERIC & WOUND HEALING

Basic Science research on turmeric has mistakenly (?)  focused on Curcurmin as the presumed active ingredient of turmeric. That focus was likely to find a commercially lucrative new drug from un-patentable inexpensive Turmeric.  I believe that focus is unfortunate. Less than 5% 0f turmeric is curcumin.  Multiple other compounds are present and may represent active contributory ingredients .  The story of vitamin E as the active ingredient in walnuts helping in vascular and heart disease is a case in point. Millions of people for years took vitamin E because of that wrong assumption. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE USE OF ORAL CURCURMIN AND CURCURMIN/ PIPERARINE COMBINATIONS DUE TO recent reports from Italy of POSSIBLE HEPATOTOXICITY    None of those reports were about whole turmeric powder.  All over this post I have quoted curcumin research because that is primarily what is online everywhere. Some turmeric clinical research is available too.  I only use whole turmeric powder bought online or i
